DANVILLE, CA, December 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patti Forte, Painter, Author and Lyricist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in fine art.

A former elementary school teacher, Patti Forte has found her niche in the arts. She is a skilled artist, poet and lyricist, having received a multitude of honors for her work. Her poem, "The Shapeless Shoe" was published in the Poetry Guild's "Reflections of the Soul" as well as in "Nightfall of Diamonds," a publication released by the National Library of Poetry. The International Library of Poetry also included Ms. Forte's poems, "The Glowing Surface" in "Poetry's Elite - The Best Poets of 2000" and "Diamond in the Rough" in "The Best Poems and Poets of 2001." Most recently, Ms. Forte penned her first book, "Parting the Mist," a work which chronicles her journey to peace and inner truth through the use of poetry and art. Since its release in 2000, readers have received it with acclaim, saying the following:

"Patti shares with us the richness and the rage, the pain and the peace of her own journey, and we are each lifted in our own parting of the mist." - Dixie Waldrip, author

"This is a personal journey of an ordinary woman who discovers her own beauty and self worth through the pain of loss. Like a quiet, intimate conversation, she shares her deepest struggle with a vulnerability that is unadorned but powerful." - Shirley Nice, author

In recognition of excellence in her field, Ms. Forte was inducted into the Cambridge Who's Who registry as "VIP of the Year" in 2006 and was named "Professional of the Year" for the 2008-2009 year. She completed the screenplay The Caraytid Porch, regarding the empowerment of women as well as a CD of music to accompany her book, "Parting the Mist." Recently, her artwork appeared on singer-songwriter Matt Stivers' CD "The Western Line." She is currently working on CD covers and jackets, new painting techniques to express feelings in paintings, and on her book "The Missing Medulla."

Ms. Forte holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from San Jose State University. She completed extensive coursework in alternative health training and is an advanced healing practitioner. Her specialties include neuro-linguistics programming, rapid eye technology and clinical hypnotherapy.
