Talamas Broadcast Provides Video and Wireless Audio Support to Several Major Holiday Productions

Talamas Broadcast Equipment (www.talamas.com) was called on to provide HD video, wireless microphone/communication systems and technical support to a variety of multi-media holiday productions in the greater Boston area.

BOSTON, MA, December 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- T'was the time before Christmas and all through the town... the elves at Talamas Broadcast Equipment (www.talamas.com) were hard at work providing HD video, wireless microphone/communication systems and technical support to a variety of multi-media holiday productions in the greater Boston area.

The Talamas-supported schedule of events kicked off on December 3 with the 68th annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony on Boston Common. Hosted by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, the event was broadcast live by WCVB-TV and attended by thousands of revelers who were treated to a flawless production due in part to the wireless audio system of Shure hand-held microphones with Neumann heads, Sennheiser in-ear monitors and Telex two-channel wireless intercoms provided by Talamas.

Another beloved Christmas tradition, the Boston Pops Holiday Concerts, opened on December 9 at Symphony Hall. Talamas provided a Sennheiser wireless microphone system with DPA head-worn mics to complete the audio system that producers used to create the show's crystal clear sounds. Featured performers during the series included Grammy award-winning singer Debby Boone, Tony Award-winning actor Frank Langella and Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls.

The next evening, December 10, a comprehensive package of high-definition video and wireless audio equipment provided by Talamas was operating at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA during radio station KISS 108's annual Jingle Ball Concert. The show's producers used three Sony HD mini camcorders to capture the sights and sounds for later uploading to the radio station's website. Lectrosonics hand-held mics, Motorola two-way radios and an RTS hardwired two-channel intercom system rounded out the Talamas equipment package.

The flurry of holiday projects at Talamas wrapped up on December 13 with the production of a 70-minute Holiday Express train ride for kids from Woburn to Wakefield, Mass. Talamas provided a Sennheiser wireless microphone system with Sennheiser and DPA head-worn mics for the seven-car train, so that the volunteer band of singers, dancers and storytellers could be easily heard from every seat.

"These types of shows always bring a special magic to our holiday season," said Talamas rental manager and RF expert Jim Billbrough. "It's gratifying to help the producers deliver a first-class entertainment experience by giving them superior audio and video equipment to work with, as well as some technical advice along the way."

Talamas Broadcast Equipment (www.talamas.com) sells and rents wireless communication systems to the broadcast, production, event and theatre industries. Founded in 1979, the company is recognized as the leading RF specialists in the Northeast because of its extensive experience in frequency coordination and multi-channel integration.
