Homestead, Florida Winery Hosts Haitian Relief Benefit Concert

Community ravaged by Hurricane Andrew, stages concert to aide Haitian relief efforts.

HOMESTEAD, FL, January 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Members of the Homestead, Florida area, know all too well, the impact a devastating natural disaster can have on a community. Local area residents, artisans and small business owners have banded together to help Haitian relief efforts. Schnebly Redland's Winery will host a benefit concert and fundraiser to raise funds for the Coral Gables Congregational Church Haitian Relief program. "The Coral Gables Congregational Church has supported grassroots efforts in Haiti for the past five years. Today we are in solidarity with the people of Haiti and are putting our efforts into relief and rebuilding," said Leonie Hermantin, CGCC church member and CGCC Haiti Mission Possible Task Force co-chair.

Located in the heart of Hurricane Andrew ravaged, Homestead, Florida, Schnebly Redland's Winery has been a long supporter of Haiti working closely with the region, promoting Haiti's native "Banana Mangos" and working with officials to make a positive impact. Still struggling to fully recover from the destruction left behind by the second largest Hurricane in US history, the Homestead, Florida community is ready and willing to lend a helping hand to the people of Haiti. Peter Schnebly owner of Schnebly Redland's Winery said, "So many people lost their homes, their businesses, their lives... The road ahead of them is long and hard, but they're going to pull through it. It's just going to take a great deal of time, energy, and financial resources."

"That's exactly why we've organized this event. We wanted to offer the people of Haiti, the same kind of help and support that saved this community, in the wake of Hurricane Andrew," said Laurie Jennings Oudin, half of the duo Jennings and Keller which are one of Headliners playing at the event. The concert will be held under the winery's beautiful Grand Tiki hut. There will be wine available inside the tasting room, and folks are encouraged to bring a picnic. The suggested donation is $20, all proceeds going to Coral Gables Congregational Church Haiti Fund.
