Macon Film Fest Next For "Target Practice"

The riveting independent action film "TARGET PRACTICE," coming this spring from Warner Bros/WEA, will be making its debut in Georgia on Friday, February 19 at the Macon Film Festival in downtown Macon.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA, February 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "TARGET PRACTICE," directed by Hollywood vet Richmond Riedel, is a nerve-wracking, relentless thriller concerning 5 friends on a weekend fishing trip who discover a hidden training camp for homegrown terrorists - molded after recent real-life discoveries in both the U.S. and Canada - and has already been picked up for distribution by Big Screen Entertainment Group and Warner Bros/WEA (Warner Elektra).

Theatergoers in Macon GA will get an early chance to view the film when it screens in the Macon Film Festival on Friday February 19 in the Douglass Theater on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

The Macon Film Festival marks the film's 15th festival appearance and it's been winning nominations and awards across the country, including Action Film Of The Year at the Action On Film International Film Festival (AOF) in Pasadena, CA, Best Action Film at the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival in Fargo, ND, the Silver Screen Award in the Nevada Film Festival, Runner-Up Best Feature at the Appalachian Film Festival in Huntington WV, and the Award of Excellence in the international Accolade Film Competition.

The film has also been getting terrific reviews in the press. The trade Variety (the film industry Bible in Hollywood) wrote "...politics give way to pure, unadulterated action in Richmond Riedel's impressively mounted 'Target Practice'... a relentless pace and astute storytelling ... Pic never lets up ... certain twists are quite brilliantly pulled off ... extremely tense and executed with great energy ..."

"TARGET PRACTICE" stars Eltony Williams, who has appeared in "24," "Bones," "Castle," "CSI:Miami," "The Unit," "Ghost Whisperer," and "Numb3rs," and Joey Lanai, who appears in the upcoming films "Callous" and "In The Darkness."

The screening in the Macon Film Festival is open to the public and will afford theatergoers in Macon an advance opportunity to see this intense film before its release in June. Tone shifts between moments of serene calm and sudden, shocking bursts of violence. It's not for the faint of heart but it's definitely a terrific piece of cinematic mayhem and suspense, and will be showing at the Douglass Theater on Friday February 19 @ 7:15 PM. In addition, the film's award-winning director, Richmond Riedel, will be on hand for a Q&A following the screening.
