WARHEADS Ramps Up ESPN Winter X Games 14 Sponsorship

WARHEADS partners with ESPN for Winter X Games event

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, February 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- WARHEADS, the authentic edgy sour candy, raised the bar at the ESPN Winter X 14 Games in Aspen, Colorado. This was WARHEADS second year as a lead candy sponsor of the Winter X Games, and the consumer response to its participation was overwhelming. A record crowd of over 80,000 people attended the action sports event, and WARHEADS was front and center.

Over a half a ton of candy was sampled over the four day event, with the highlight being the new WARHEADS Sour Chewy Cubes candy. "The response to the new WARHEADS Sour Chewy Cubes was fantastic. Kids and adults loved the just-right sour sanded chewy cube-shaped candy. Attendees kept coming back asking for the candy and where they can buy it. It was definitely a big hit," stated Tony Porter, Consumer Marketing Manager.

New this year, WARHEADS introduced its custom designed Extreme Mountain Pinball game, a replica of a snowpark with a Super Sour Half-pipe, jumps, moguls, trees, and boulders. This innovative and interactive game allowed players to shoot pinballs into the snowpark and watch the excitement as the pinballs traveled down the course. Branded prizes including water bottles, bandanas, candy, and foam hats were awarded based on the slot that the pinball ended up in. Top prize was a WARHEADS branded snowskate, complete with board and snowskates. "The pinball game was definitely the hit of the XFest Village with hundreds of attendees lined up to play from the event opening to closing every day," states Tony Porter.

WARHEADS event integration did not stop there. Taking advantage of WARHEADS extreme social networking presence, an online scavenger hunt through its Twitter feed was conducted. Clues were sent through Twitter directing fans where the prize package was hidden. Finders of the prize package were additional rewarded with passes to see the events from the WARHEADS VIP Box. To engage fans who could not be at the event, WARHEADS posted videos, pictures, and comments on its newly updated website (www.WARHEADS.com) and its fan sites at Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Flickr. "WARHEADS online following is immense. With the hundreds of thousands of Facebook fans, YouTube fan generated videos, and WARHEADS.com members, we have the opportunity to extend our sponsorship activities beyond the event itself. WARHEADS is an extreme candy experience that should be shared with friends and fans, and our sponsorship and online activities help to facilitate those engagements. We look forward to our upcoming participation in the ESPN Summer X Games 16!" states Marketing Director, Andy Telatnik.
