Financial Literacy Software from Realityworks, Inc. to be Highlighted at Western Business Education Association Conference

TimeMAPS program provides districts with full curriculum for personal finance education

EAU CLAIRE, WI, February 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In 2009's Young Adults and Money Survey, participants stated that providing incentives for states to mandate financial education in schools was the most important step the Obama Administration could take to improve financial literacy. As our nation continues to battle the recession, more than 20 states have made personal finance education a graduation requirement for students in grades 9-12.

To help educators meet these new requirements, Realityworks, Inc., the leader in education simulation technology, announces the availability of TimeMAPS Money Management and Life Skills Program. The TimeMAPS software program will be featured at the Western Business Education Association's (WBEA) 2010 Conference to be held Feb. 12-15, 2010, at the Circus Circus Reno Hotel in Reno, Nev.

Participants in the Young Adults and Money Survey also stated that "living within a budget" and "the importance of saving" were the two most important aspects of personal finance they wished they had learned more about before entering the workforce.

Using the TimeMAPS software, educators have access to 13 themes with 54 lessons and more than 140 interactive exercises on personal finance concepts. The program utilizes the most recent financial data provided by the federal government and is updated annually for all regions in the United States.

TimeMAPS also includes a comprehensive curriculum CD and access to customizable assessments that minimize paperwork for educators, allowing more time for instruction.

Realityworks will also host a 50-minute session during the WBEA conference on teaching personal finance. "You Don't Need to be a Financial Expert to Teach Like One!" will be held from 10:30-11:20 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, in the Mandalay 4 conference room at the Circus Circus Reno.

Educators can learn more about the TimeMAPS program by visiting the Realityworks booth at the WBEA conference. For more information on the WBEA conference, visit www.wbea.info/conference.
