Grove City Dentist Office Kicks Off Spring Events with National Children's Dental Health Month

Grove City Family Dentistry participates in several events to encourage awareness that February is Dental Health Month, and will continue with an active spring schedule of events.

COLUMBUS, OH, March 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Columbus-area dental office, Grove City Family Dentistry, has a passion for educating about the benefits of healthy dental habits, especially for children. The office will have several events this spring, which kicked off with National Children's Dental Health Month.

"This is always an exciting time for us at Grove City Family Dentistry; we have four doctors at the office, Dr. Craig Oiler, Dr. Paula Zimmerman, Dr. Brian Mitchell and I, who each enjoy participating in community events. These events give us an opportunity to promote the importance of children developing good oral habits at an early age," Dr. Katie Vincer said. "We encourage the value of scheduling regular dental visits to help children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums."

With a focus on educating young children, in early February, Grove City Family Dentistry's doctors spoke to Grove City's Goddard School, and shared brushing tips and healthy dental habits with 80 students. They will also be speaking to 104 students at Alton Hall Elementary Kindergarden, 21 students at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and approximately 240 students at JC Sommer Elementary later this month.

The dental office sponsored the cheerleaders at Grove City High School this year, and earned recognition at a home basketball game. According to the staff at Grove City Family Dentistry, giving back to the community is an important aspect of dental health awareness.

The first of many iPod gift baskets from Grove City Family Dentistry went to Grove City Sertoma Valentines Dinner/Dance and silent auction in February. On Saturday, March 13 from 6-9 p.m., the office will participate in the Grove City YMCA's "Boot Scootin" Benefit. At the event kick-off, Grove City Family Dentistry will donate an iPod gift basket in the silent auction; all proceeds at the event go to the YMCA People Helping People Scholarship fund. On March 20, Grove City Family Dentistry will donate an iPod gift basket for the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Silent Auction and Dinner. Another event for local businesses will bring Grove City Family Dentistry to the Taste of Grove City & Business Expo on March 24. At the event, Grove City Famiy Dentistry will host a booth with promotional giveaways and dental education materials, as well as a gift basket giveaway.

Wrapping up their spring schedule, Grove City Family Dentistry will host an Invisalign Open House at their office on April 28. Dr. Zimmerman hosts the informative open house, which will highlight how Invisalign works for adults and teens. Invisalign is a modern, nearly invisible alternative to traditional metal braces. The treatment is comprised of wearing a series of clear, removable Invisalign aligners that are changed every two weeks, and it is becoming increasingly popular with teenagers.

"Invisalign was originally available only for adults, but Invisalign Teen is a cool way for teens to straighten their teeth without anyone having to know!" Dr. Zimmerman said. "The Invisalign aligners are comfortable, easily removable, easy to clean and nearly undetectable by others. More and more teenagers are taking the step to straighter teeth because they can now do it a lot more comfortably and quietly."
