Silver Spring, MD, March 01, 2010, Marion B. Amory Ed.D., President and CEO of the Center for Enhanced Learning and a professor at Bowie State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for dedication, leadership and excellence in reading diagnostics, administration and urban reading achievement programs.
Dr. Amory has over 30 years of experience in K-12 education and in academia. Since 2000, she has been overseeing the operations at the Center for Enhanced Learning, as well a conducting reading research and writing proposals for urban reading programs. Dr. Amory has created Reading Clinics and has served as a reading supervisor in Boston and New York City. She has held the position of Reading Supervisor in the East Orange, New Jersey School District and as Head of the Department of English/Reading/Language Arts and Title I Programs at Madison Park High School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Amory has numerous certifications in New York State, New Jersey, Massachusetts and North Carolina in the professional areas of: Reading Specialist, Reading Supervisor, Early Childhood/Elementary Education, Principal, and Superintendent. She has a M.Ed. in Reading Education from Duke University and earned a doctorate in Reading Education and Leadership from Boston University.
She is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, Pi Lambda Theta and Delta Kappa Gamma educational honor societies and is listed in Who's Who in Education. She holds membership in the International Reading Association, the Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development. Looking to the future, Dr. Amory is currently designing a software model for an urban reading leadership program for urban school principals and a software reading program for students in elementary and middle schools who are in need of attaining and maintaining grade level reading and above.
