Demand for Permanent Management Skills Booms says Parity

Parity statistics support demand for business related IT skills

/24-7PressRelease/ - EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, May 14, 2006 - Parity's recent research into 'The Changing IT Worker Profile' shows firms are less reliant on IT Operational and Programming staff with greater emphasis on obtaining and retaining Project and Programme Management and Business Analyst skills (http://www.parity.net/resources/default.asp ).

Competition from abroad is depressing salaries in IT Operations roles having failed to keep pace with average wage inflation for the second year running.

Parity's results are comparable with Forrester's research and shows a clear and consistent message on what is happening in IT recruitment.

"The growth in IT outsourcing is a key driver behind an increased demand for IT white-collar business skills," says Alan Rommel, Corporate Accounts Director at Parity Resources, responsible for placing both Permanent and Contract IT staff (http://www.parity.net/resources/recruitment_solutions/permanent_recru ... fault.aspx ) for clients in the Private and Public Sectors.

"We are seeing an unprecedented level of requirement from firms requiring Project and Programme Managers, Business Analysts and IT Strategists and more enquiries for permanent staff at senior level are coming in. To fulfil these demands, we are investing in ensuring that all our staff have an understanding of the sectors which they operate in. The market has been picking up for a while and this year we have found more confidence in the market than in previous years."

Rommel continues "With our ability to use innovative testing to benchmark permanent candidates against clients' internal staff, we can significantly reduce cost and time to hire internal recruitment. Recently we have been taking on more staff to keep up with the demand."

Ovum's outlook going forward to 2009 predicts a 7-9% growth in IT outsourcing and suggests that this trend will continue for the foreseeable future.
