LateRooms.com - Celebrate the Arrival of Spring at Fruhlingsfest in Munich

If you are pleased with the advent of the warmer weather you may want to celebrate the beginning of spring in Munich.

MUNICH, GERMANY, March 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who enjoy a big party and a funfair may want to think about booking accommodation in Munich for mid-April.

This is because the Fruhlingsfest will be in full swing from April 16th until May 2nd, with a host of attractions and activities to keep any visitors to the city occupied.

Described as the "little sister" of the world-famous Oktoberfest, it promises lots of fun for all who head out to Thereisenwiese during its two-week run.

Boasting more than 100 fairground rides, with everything from roller coasters to merry-go-rounds and dodgems, as well as a wide selection of beer tents and food halls, there is enough to keep anyone busy for several days.

All the beer tents and food areas are open from 11:00 (local time) every day and will close at 23:00.

Meanwhile, the rides start operating from 12:00 but are also available until 23:00, which means people making the journey really can spend all day enjoying the delights of the fairground.

In addition to the attractions on offer every day, there will also be special events held throughout the festival's duration.

These include a giant flea market on April 17th, where vendors from all over Bavaria will travel to sell their wares between 07:00 and 17:00.

People who enjoy visual displays may want to make sure that they visit the fair on either April 24th or 30th because spectacular fireworks shows will light up the night sky on these dates.

On April 30th, the fireworks will be accompanied by music in conjunction with Radio Charivari. Both evenings of explosive entertainment are scheduled to begin at around 22:00, once it is dark.

So, whether it is a first trip to Munich or to get in the mood for the Oktoberfest celebrations, Fruhlingsfest is bound to provide some entertainment away from the city's usual attractions.

"The Fruhlingsfest is likely to be popular," said Jess Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms. "LateRooms strongly recommends people considering attending to book hotels Munchen as soon as possible."
