Dr. Tyrala has 39 years of overall professional experience. She serves as a pediatrician for the St. Chris Care at Falls Center as well as a public health advocate for the Philadelphia Department of Health. Prior to her current position, she served as the director of Newborn Services and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Temple University Hospital. Additionally she was a Professor of Pediatrics at Temple University School of Medicine.

In 1971, Dr. Tyrala received her MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She holds a board certification in neonatal medicine and pediatrics, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
