Hermann K. Orlet honored by leading professional registry

AUGUSTA, GA, March 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Hermann K. Orlet, MD, FACS, Physician in practice with Joseph M. Still Burn Centers, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

"I don't know if there is anything outstanding about my work that you should promote. I have experienced that virtually all patients, and non-patients, really, overreact to their physicians. He or she is either the greatest, [capable of] walking on water, or he or she is the greatest SOB who ever walked the face of the earth. The truth is that most of us fall somewhere in between. We are honest, hardworking people who knock themselves out to do the best they know how for their patients. I fall into that group." So noted Dr. Hermann K. Orlet, recognized authority in plastic and reconstructive surgery, in his latest interview with Cambridge Publishing. And for over 25 years he has done just that, demonstrating unwavering dedication to patients suffering from burn damage.

With nearly five decades of experience, Dr. Orlet practices at the Joseph M. Still Burn Centers, where he provides medical services to patients suffering from burns and those requiring reconstructive surgery. A board certified plastic surgeon, he is specialized in the practice of cosmetic, burn reconstruction and hand surgery. He holds an MD from Loma Linda University and a bachelor of biology from the University of Toledo.

Dr. Orlet is also proud member of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstruction Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the American Burn Association. A celebrated public speaker and author, Dr. Orlet was named Cambridge Publishing's Professional of the Year 2009 in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Such honor is reserved for its most esteemed members demonstrating professional excellence and personal integrity. He credits most of his professional success to the mentors and colleagues who have supported him along the way: Angelo Capozzi, the inspiration for Dr. Orlet's career in plastic surgery, Harry Buncke, his former teacher and lab supervisor, Mar McGregor, the chief of Dr. Orlet's plastic surgery residency who served as a father figure, and Roger Greenberg, who taught him all of the practicalities of medicine.
