Enjoy a Shakespeare Performance on a Trip to Singapore - AsiaRooms.com

People stopping off in Singapore next month may want to treat themselves to performance of one of the Bard's plays.

SINGAPORE, March 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who is staying in Singapore hotels in April may not be expecting to find a Shakespeare production on offer in the city.

But for six nights, travellers who are craving something familiar and British will be able to take in a performance of two Shakespeare plays.

For the second year, the Bridge Project - which is run by the Singapore Repertory Theatre - will be putting on a Shakespeare play and this time it is the turn of The Tempest.

Fans of live theatre will no doubt be convinced to book tickets for the show when they learn that it is being produced as a collaboration between director Sam Mendes and actor Kevin Spacey.

Running from April 2nd to 10th, with performances at 20:00 (local time) each day as well as an additional matinee show on the Wednesday and Saturday, it is bound to be popular among both visitors and residents of the city.

The project will be hosted by the Esplanade Theatre and tickets start from S$55 (GBP26.16) for the midweek matinee, with tickets for the evening performances starting from S$95.

Actors due to step into the spotlight next month include Obie award-winner Alvin Epstein and Christian Camargo who starred in Oscar-winning movie The Hurt Locker.
