Spring Break Searches to Denver up 49% Reports Skyscanner

Flights to the sun this spring break are as popular as ever with Hawaii searches soaring by 118%, but a surprise surge in interest for Denver shows that snow is also high on the agenda for Spring Breakers.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, March 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Skyscanner flight search statistics for the Spring Break period show that while most US travellers can't wait to escape the freezing temperatures in search of some early summer sun, this year's revellers are seeking some new and somewhat surprising destinations for their week away from studies.

Searches for flights to Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando lead the way and Skyscanner has also seen a staggering 118% increase in searches for cheap flights to Honolulu as well.

But while the pull of warm weather is understandable, a 49% surge in flight searches to Denver shows that snow still has a strong appeal with Spring Breakers.

"Maybe it's the popularity of the Winter Olympics, but it seems that this year's Spring Break might just manifest itself on the ski slopes. Colorado has a strong appeal for ski enthusiasts, and Breakers will enjoy less ice on the runs, almost balmy temps at the bottom of the mountain and find cheap tickets to Denver not too hard to come by." said Scot Carlson, Skyscanner's US and Canada Country Manager.
