Dr. James A. Germano II is a respected specialist in primary joint surgery, revision, and hip and knee arthroscopy. He is the Chief of the Hip Service at South Nassau Comminutes Hospital. He lends his talents to the orthopedic practice of Orlin & Cohen, where he is responsible primarily for evaluating and treating patients. Dr. Germano became involved in orthopedic surgery because of his fascination with biology and the unique opportunities that the field presented for working with his hands. He attributes his success to his diligence, determination, and passion for his profession.

The recipient of numerous academic honors while in medical school, Dr. Germano completed his fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital and his residency at the University of Massachusetts. He earned his MD in 2002 from Syracuse University and his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1998 from SUNY Binghamton. His professional affiliations include the Academic Orthopaedic Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. In five years, Dr. Germano plans to lead a Center for Joint Reconstruction.
