WATERBURY, CT, March 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Cynthia D. Conrad, Medical Director for the Western Connecticut Mental Health Network, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in mental healthcare.

Dr. Conrad has 28 years of overall professional experience, and has been with the Western Connecticut Mental Health Network for 3 years. As the medical director, she specializes in psychiatry. Her daily responsibilities include overseeing the quality of behavioral health services provided across three clinical sites in Northwest Connecticut.

In 1979, Dr. Conrad received her Ph.D. from The Graduate School, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her MD in 1978 from The University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She is a member of the Connecticut Psychiatric Society, and the American Psychiatric Association.

The Western CT Mental Health Network is responsible for the clinical, fiscal and administrative oversight of state-operated and contracted agencies providing mental health services in Region 5 of Connecticut's Department of Health and Addiction Services.
