HOQUIAM, WA, April 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --LeRoy S. Black, Resource Protection Officer for the Quinault Indian Nation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in environmental advocacy and protection.
LeRoy S. Black has dedicated the last 17 years to wildlife policy enforcement for the Quinault Indian Nation. Driven by his commitment to environmental protection, he has made invaluable contributions to the field of law enforcement, including the establishment and subsequent development of the Intertribal Hunting Committee and the Olympic Peninsula Intertribal. He has also worked with the State Wildlife Enforcement, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Park Service and NOAA Agents, as well as served as the vice chairman for Quinault Resort and Casino Gaming Commission for one year. For the Quinault Indian Nation, he is responsible for patrolling reservation sites, ensuring the safety of wildlife and fish, enforcing all laws, reporting any violations of such laws and investigating wild fires. Mr. Black is primarily tasked with protecting animals from snake hunters and poachers.
Recognized for his efforts with seven achievement awards and three employee of the year awards, Mr. Black is distinguished for his persistence. When not in service to the Quinault Indian Nation, he works as a fishing guide for local and tourist fishermen. He also enjoys camping, fishing and hunting. As he moves forward in his career, Mr. Black will seek to further his career in criminal justice with the long-term goal of one day becoming the chief of police of natural resources management. Mr. Black is a proud member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Inc., Native American Fish & Wildlife Society and the Fish and Wildlife Commission, for which he is chairman.
