Undercover News Report Reveals Michael Bay Estate Buyers Offers Seller the Most Cash for Gold and Jewelry

Michael Bay Estate Buyer was recently featured in the KFOR Oklahoma City NewsChannel 4 report "Turn Your Gold into Cash".

DALLAS, TX, April 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Bay Estate Buyer was recently featured in the KFOR Oklahoma City NewsChannel 4 report "Turn Your Gold into Cash". Michael Bay was among several local buyers recorded by undercover reporter Ali Meyer posing as a seller looking to sell her unwanted gold jewelry.

From the story: "Many Oklahoma families are looking for an easy way to make some extra cash" and many "have considered selling off old gold jewelry, after all it's worth" almost a thousand dollars an ounce. It's an "astounding difference, the amount you can collect, depending upon where you sell your items".

The results:

- Pawn shops offered the least amount of money for unwanted jewelry

- Jewelry stores were somewhat better but didn't always correctly identify or evaluate some of the items

- Michael Bay Estate Buyer offered almost triple as much money as a pawn shop and almost 30% more than the nearest offer from a jewelry store.

And this advice from the reporter's interview with Bob Manista, President of the Oklahoma City Better Business Bureau, about using a mail-in scrap dealer "there's a market for that if you're desperate", but "it's not where you're going to get the best money".

Bay explains, "Many dealers will only offer you gold refinery prices. We have a large, growing online retail presence and relationships with collectors worldwide, so we need inventory."

"If you sell gold jewelry for its scrap value, you'll lose much of its retail value," said Bay. "The scrap price is based on the value of the metal alone and doesn't reflect the craftsmanship or any aesthetic, antique or resale value. A Jose Hess necklace might be worth five to ten times its weight in gold. The average scrap gold buyer won't know this, but we understand this and pay you the true market value for designer gold jewelry."
