BROOKLYN, NY, April 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ruth Matthews-Rowe, Registered Nurse for New York Methodist Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Ruth Matthews-Rowe has five years of experience as a registered nurse for New York Methodist Hospital, and 2 ½ years at Federation of Organizations. At the latter, she assists the psychiatrist, performs health screenings, administers intramuscular injections and runs health groups. She monitors patients for psychotic signs and symptoms and reports them to the psychiatrist. At New York Methodist Hospital she is responsible for assisting patients in the medical-surgical unit, and the surgical step-down unit, cardiac monitoring and reporting charges to the Physicians as needed. She also performs pain management duties, pre and post operative teaching and post-operative patient assessment. She became involved in her profession because of her desire to become a nurse and her experience in working with mentally-challenged people. She attributes her success to her passion for nursing.

Ms. Matthews-Rowe received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Queensboro Community College in 2005. She is a member of the New York State Nurses Association and The American Nurses Association, Inc.
