The Cheltenham Science Festival will feature appearances from Brian Cox, Heston Blumenthal and Bill Bryson.

COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND, May 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People staying in Cotswolds hotels this summer may be planning to attend one or two events at the Cheltenham Science Festival.

Running from June 9th to 13th, the festival aims to make science fun and accessible to everyone with a diverse programme of debates, experiments and other activities.

This year's event has been boosted by the presence of two high-profile guest directors - TV physicist Brian Cox and celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal.

Cox is due to give a presentation based on his recent BBC series Wonders of the Solar System, which take places at Cheltenham Town Hall on Sunday June 13th.

Blumenthal, who is known for taking a scientific approach to his culinary experiments, is involved in several events at the festival.

The man behind celebrated restaurant The Fat Duck can be seen in conversation with food expert Harold McGee at the Town Hall on Thursday June 10th, with tickets priced at GBP14.

Later that day, he will also present some of his confectionery creations alongside neuroscientist Francis McGlone in a special session called Heston's Sweet Shop.

Other anticipated highlights include an appearance from author Bill Bryson, who will be discussing the history of the Royal Society with Roger Highfield, editor of the New Scientist, on Friday June 11th.
