A board certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Stanley Tao lends more than 15 years of industry experience to Scott Orthopedic Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Best noted for his expertise in sports medicine and arthroscopic joint surgery, Dr. Tao has worked with a number of professional sports teams over the course of his career. He served as a team physician for Marshall University from 2001 to 2009 and was part of the medical staff for the Olympic Summer games in 2001. He was also an assistant team physician for the Richmond Rhythm and worked with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In addition to his clinical work with Scott Orthopedic Center, Dr. Tao is an orthopedic consultant for Shawnee State University. He has been named among America's Top Surgeons since 2002 and credits his success to the values instilled in him by his parents. Looking to the future, Dr. Tao intends to assist with the expansion of Scott Orthopedic Center and continue his work with local sports teams.

Dr. Tao earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1995. He completed an internship and residency in orthpaedic surgery at the Medical College of Ohio as well as a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. He holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine and is certified in Genzyme chondrocyte transplantation, Holmium: YAG laser and basic cardiac life support. Dr. Tao's professional affiliations include the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of America, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
