New Job Interview Secret Skyrockets Job Seekers To Top Of Hiring List

For immediate release: Cincinnati, May 10, 2010. New downloadable book, "How You Find A Job Fast" teaches job seekers a LEAP technique that will send them to the top of the job interviewer's hiring list.

CINCINNATI, OH, May 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Don Schenk, co-author of "How You Find A Job Fast" says, "As a job seeker, you must make yourself stand out above all other job applicants and show you take initiative. You do this by presenting a Leading Employee Advantage Profile (a L.E.A.P.) document. It maps out exactly how you will help the business, shows what you will do for them, and demonstrates why you are the one candidate to hire."

Schenk says, "Even as the economy begins to recover, the average time it now takes to find a job is 7 months, and some people have been out of work for more than a year. It will be some time before employers start hiring in larger numbers. Just over half of U.S. jobs come from small businesses, and owners of these businesses are especially leery of taking on more expense."

As an example of "standing out" he tells a story about a teenager looking for a summer job in this economy. The young fellow quickly learned there were not many jobs available, and every business that did have an opening was swamped with job seekers - teenagers and adults.

When this young fellow saw the line of folks waiting to speak to the hiring manager, he quickly wrote a short note, and handed it to the manager's assistant. The assistant read the note, smiled, then handed it to the hiring manager.

The note said, "Please don't do anything until you have talked with the 21st person in line."

Schenk says, "I am a business owner, and I have been the guy on the hiring side conducting job interviews for 40 years. So I know what will impress an interviewer. I have been one for a long time."

Schenk also says, "You should get the interviewer involved in the ways you will help the company. You do this by simply asking certain questions. Finally, make the interviewer feel good about hiring you, by what you say and by
what you do during the interview. You show your confidence and likability through your body language."

Schenk recently spoke with a hiring executive from one of the major airlines. He says, "We were comparing notes about some of the job interviews we had each given when I asked what he would do if he met a job candidate who had mapped out the entire course of action the candidate would take if hired. The HR executive said, 'I would hire them on the spot. I almost always know within the first 30 or 40 seconds if I am going to hire the person.'"

"That has generally been my experience too," Schenk says.
