Gary Marsh first got involved in the entertainment industry as a child when he began acting. After being in such films as Camelot and Shampoo his interest in the business evolved to the casting side when, as a teenager, he would go to all of the studios to create script breakdowns to bring back to his mother who was a talent agent. Other agents soon became interested in what he was doing and began paying him to do the same thing for them, prompting him to start Breakdown Services in 1971.
