Securities America To Welcome Expanding Advisor Force to June 2010 National

Securities America will host its annual Connect! National conference in Huntington Beach, California, which will kick-off with pre-conference events dedicated to helping advisors accelerate the growth of their fee-based businesses.

LA VISTA, NE, May 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Securities America will host its annual Connect! National conference June 5-8, 2010, in Huntington Beach, Calif.

"With our strong recruiting results over the past year, and many advisors back on track after the turmoil of the past 18 months, we anticipate a record turnout," said Securities America President Jim Nagengast.

The event will kick-off with three pre-conference events, including RoadMap, a session dedicated to helping advisors accelerate the growth of their fee-based businesses. The conference will officially start on Saturday, June 5, with opening comments from Securities America leaders and a welcome reception. On Sunday, June 6, retirement income distribution guru Ed Slott will talk about sophisticated financial planning issues. In the second half of Sunday's general session, Kathryn Capage, first vice president and strategic planning director in Invesco AIM's Retirement Plan Division, will discuss passed and pending legislation and regulation - which may be the biggest driver in the financial services industry in the near future.

On Monday, June 7, in something completely new to the traditional conference format, Chip Roame, managing principal of Tiburon Strategic Advisors, will moderate a panel discussion of non-Securities America clients who have hired financial advisors. Roame will interview these individual investors about the importance of communication, trust and loyalty in an advisor relationship - and how those can be lost or enhanced. The final keynote speaker on Tuesday, June 8, will be Andy Andrews, author of the New York Times' bestseller "The Travelers Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success" and "The Noticer: Sometimes, All a Person Needs is a Little Perspective."

For the third year in a row, Securities America will host the Super Women's Summit. The format this year will be a luncheon on June 7, where Securities America's women advisors will hear from a panel of their peers, including: Denise Fries, Fries Financial Services (Bryan, Texas); Patricia Laramore, CFP , Premier Investment Advisory Services, Inc. (Ada & Oklahoma City, Okla.); Lori Price, CFP, Price Financial Group (Wilton, Conn.); and Minoti Rajput, CFP, Secure Planning Strategies (Southfield, Mich.).

Advisors and their staff who attend the conference will have more than 90 breakout sessions to choose from, in the areas of practice management, business growth, office management, e-strategies, asset management, financial planning, investment strategies, wealth management, retirement income distribution and practice security. Considerable attention will be given to helping advisors generate new conversations with clients and prospective clients.

"National conference is a high point of the year for Securities America," Nagengast said. "The opportunity for advisors to interact with industry experts and network with colleagues, and for our executives to connect with our family of advisors, is the foundation of our continuing success."
