Consumers Turn To Review Centre to Vent Steam Over Volcanic Ash Cloud

"Our site is always a real litmus test of consumer sentiment and people are particularly vocal when they get exceptionally poor or exceptionally good service."

SURREY, ENGLAND, May 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the volcanic ash cloud still looming large over parts of Europe, consumers unhappy with their airlines or insurance companies are turning to consumer review website Review Centre in droves to vent their anger at the way they've been treated.

The company that seems to be causing the biggest disquiet on Review Centre is Insure and Go, with customers leaving 74 reviews since the volcano started erupting.

"Insure & Go who have said that the volcanic ash cloud does not constitute a bad weather event and so we are not covered," says one reviewer, while another says they're "stranded in Spain, with no help from Insure and Go, have been with them three years, and never made a claim. When I need them, they abandon me. Will NEVER use them again!!"

Other companies that are currently generating lots of discussion include AXA, Purple Parking, and Thomson Holidays. It's not all bad though - Easy Jet have been praised for their response to the volcano. "I would like to express my deepest thanks to Easy Jet for their immediate response to their customers' plight, by putting them up in various hotels including feeding them free of charge," says one reviewer, while someone else says "this airline looked after its customers from the moment of cancellation."

Glen Collins, CEO of Review Centre, says: "Our site is always a real litmus test of consumer sentiment and people are particularly vocal when they get exceptionally poor or exceptionally good service. Some brands have been greatly strengthened by the way they've handled the crisis, others sadly have been weakened. Our site is giving consumers the platform to share their experiences, which will no doubt shape how people feel about these businesses in the future."
