Dr. James E. Tille honored by Cambridge Who's Who for excellence in Christian counseling

LAKEWOOD, WA, May 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --James E. Tille, Ph.D., Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Pastoral Counselor and Chemical Dependency Professional, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in counseling management.

Named Cambridge Publishing's 2009 Professional of the Year in Christian Counseling, James E. Tille, Ph.D., is an experienced therapist possessing over two decades' professional expertise. He has undergone extensive training in several fields of therapy, and holds a bachelor of arts in liberal studies concentrating in Eastern philosophy from the State University of New York, a master of divinity concentrating in theology from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and a master of arts in professional counseling from Liberty University. He also possesses a doctor of ministry concentrating in pastoral care and counseling from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in human services concentrating in professional counseling from Capella University. Dr. Tille is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a licensed mental health counselor, a chemical dependency professional in the state of Washington, a national board certified counselor, a national certified Level II addiction counselor and a certified Level III chemical dependency specialist. Today, he is recognized as an authority on Christian-based counseling and draws upon his knowledge to render therapy to adults, couples, children and families utilizing a meta-theoretical approach.

More specifically, Dr. Tille collaborates with counselors and administrators to oversee marriage and family as well as spirituality programs and supervise substance abuse rehabilitation units. He also conducts crisis intervention and pastoral counseling for members of the armed forces as well as their families, emphasizing conflict resolution, mental health and marriage and family therapy sessions. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tille teaches online graduate courses, served as a liaison between the U.S. States Army Chaplaincy and the Polish Army Chaplaincy and served as a liaison with the Republic of Korea Army Chief of Chaplains. He is well-qualified to do so, as he previously served as the battalion chaplain for the First of the Third Field Artillery Battalion Regiment. His resume also includes such positions as clinical LPN supervisor in mentally ill and admission wards, as well as a geriatric combative ward, a chronic adult psychology ward and an acute adult psychology ward. Between 1982 and 1989, he served as a mental health technician and licensed practical nurse at Western State Hospital. He became an interim associate pastor at Harbor Baptist church, served as a U.S. Army chaplain candidate for nearly four years and later became a U.S. Army Chaplain for combat units and a Family Life Chaplain from 1989 to 2000.

In the years to come, Dr. Tille will seek to continue serving in his current capacity while teaching online programs through Northcentral University, as well as on platform at Faith Seminary. He credits his success earned to date to his caring nature and faith in God, and regards the most gratifying aspect of his career as having the opportunity to "bring the healing power of Christ into the lives of others." Dr. Tille is a fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, a fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association and a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is also a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
