Marie Josee Lamothe brings 20 years of experience to L'Oreal's luxury brands division

MONTREAL, CANADA, May 25, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marie Josee Lamothe, Vice President and General Manager of Luxury Brands at L'Oreal Canada, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in marketing.

A 20-year veteran of the competitive world of beauty and luxury marketing, Marie Josee Lamothe is best noted for her expertise in branding. She assumed control of L'Oreal Canada's luxury brands in 2005. With cross-functional responsibilities encompassing sales, marketing, finance, logistics and profit-and-loss, she oversees a range of brands in skincare, cosmetics and fragrances. Ms. Lamothe has handled such big names as Biotherm, L'Oreal Fragrances, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, Shu Uemura and Giorgio Armani Beauty, gaining multiple recognitions for her company along the way. These include several Best Men's Fragrance Awards, Reader's Choice Best in Beauty Awards, Editor's Choice Awards, Best Full Market Launch Awards, and Hall of Fame Awards. She attributes her success to her discipline and passion for her profession.

Ms. Lamothe completed INSEAD's L'Oreal general management program in France and earned a dual bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics, with honors, from the Universite de Montreal. Additionally, she holds a certification in First Aid from the Canadian Red Cross. She sits on the board of directors of the Canadian Automobile Association, is a member of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, and the jury of the Canadian Marketing Association. She is also affiliated with the Association des Professionnels de la Communication et du Marketing. In her free time, Ms. Lamothe embarks on public speaking engagements with the Board of Trade's "Back to School" initiative, which encourages high school students to continue their education. As she moves forward in her career, she hopes to continue to rise at L'Oreal.
