LateRooms.com - Naples Hosts 'Devo partire. Domani'

An interpretation of Pier Paolo Pasolini's Teorama is set to be shown at the Pallazo dell Arti Napoli this summer.

NAPLES, ITALY, May 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pier Paolo Pasolini's Teorama is interpreted in a video installation entitled 'Devo partire. Domani' in Naples, with the piece focusing on how people treat each other's identities.

Running until June 27th, this fascinating show sets its scene in the shade of Vesuvius and offers a postmodern perspective on Pasolini's work.

The language used during the piece is Italian, but travellers at Naples hotels may be pleased to hear there are English subtitles.

Put together by Singaporean artist Ming Wong, who recently received special mention at the 2009 Venice Bienniale Arte, this unusual and captivating work is a labour of love for Ming, who loved the way Pasolini created a metaphor of man and society with Teorama.

The artist told Teatro Festival Italia: "Teorema shows us the archetypal Italian middle class family, at least according to popular culture, a reservoir which could be the source of many ideas and variations on the theme."

He filmed the video around Naples and acts out all of the characters in the plot, explaining that he wanted to play the parts of the great actors who appeared in the original movie.

The show is free of charge to see and is displayed at the Pallazo dell Arti Napoli from 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00 (local time) every day.

Ming describes himself as an artist who "explores the veneers of language and identity".

For more information on this event visit the Teatro Festival Italia website or contact the venue on +39 081 404423.

To make the most of the Devo partire. Domani - you should consider booking your hotel Napoli to avoid disappointment.
