VENTURA, CA, May 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda K. Gibbons, RN, OCN, Registered Nurse, Clinic Nurse Specialist II, Oncology Certified Nurse for Ventura County Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

With 37 years of professional experience, Ms. Gibbons specializes in counseling and patient care. She administers intravenous therapy and chemotherapy, improves blood and platelet count, performs blood and platelet transfusions, phlebotomy and counsels. Prior to joining Ventura County Medical Center, she worked at VA Hospital in San Diego and in Orange County, California. Ms. Gibbons has also worked as a nurse corps lieutenant for the United States Navy and served for three years (1972-1975) in active military service. Ms. Gibbons received her diploma in nursing from Mercy Hospital in 1972. As an oncology certified nurse and a certified medical-surgical nurse, she is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She was sent by her church to the Czech Republic to attend the New Hope International Conference in 2007. She attributes her success to her faith in God and her father's encouragement throughout her life. In the future, she intends to continue in nursing and become more involved in volunteer work.
