SCOTIA, NE, June 8, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anita F. Stam, Public Assistance Crew Leader for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in emergency assistance services.
A 19-year veteran of government service, Anita F. Stam is best noted for her expertise in accounting and communication. She joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 1991, bringing to the organization an impressive background in emergency medical technology and accounting. As public assistance crew leader, Ms. Stam serves as an applicant's customer service representative on Public Assistance Program matters and manages the processing of their requests for FEMA assistance. She also provides training to new staffers joining the organization. She is deeply proud of her association with FEMA, an agency that provides much-needed assistance to victims of natural and man-made disasters, and attributes her success to her own passion for helping people.
Ms. Stam earned an associate degree in secretarial studies in 1971 from Kearney State College (now the University of Nebraska at Kearney). A certified emergency medical technician, she completed national fire training, as well as training at the Emergency Management Institute. Active in her community, Ms. Stam is a volunteer public speaker requested by various groups including her local church's ladies' group. She has been a member of the North Loup-Scotia Rescue Unit since April 1985, and was honored by FEMA with the Kaset Award for Customer Service. In recognition of her service during the Midwest Floods of 1993, Ms. Stam received a commission as an Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska from Former Governor Ben Nelson. She looks forward to building her career at FEMA.
