DAYTON, OH, June 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Benjamin Schuster, M.D., FACC, FAHA, FSCAI, Medical Director for the Kettering Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in cardiology and healthcare administration.
Dr. Schuster was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Wisconsin where he receives his B.S. degree, and then went on to receive his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin. He completed his general rotating intern training at Cincinnati General Hospital (1952-1953) and his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin (July 1953 to December 31, 1955). Additionally, he was a trainee of the National Heart Institute, U.S.P.H.S., and Fellow in Medicine, University of Wisconsin Medical School (January 1, 1956 to December 31, 1956).
Dr. Schuster's expertise is in interventional and clinical cardiology for cardiac vascular disease diagnosis and treatment. He has been Medical Director of the Kettering Hospital Cardiovascular Institute since January 1, 2000, where he is responsible for the functions of the Institute as well as coordinating cardiac education programs. Previously, he served as Director of Cardiac Diagnostic and Interventional Laboratory at Kettering Memorial Hospital (July 1, 1968 to December 31, 1999); Chief of Clinical Services and Staff Investigator for Cox Coronary Heart Institute in Dayton, Ohio (March 1, 1965 to July 1968); and Staff Research Investigator and Director of the Cardiopulmonary Center at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio (October 25, 1957 to March 1, 1965). Dr. Schuster also had a private cardiology practice in Dayton, Ohio from 1958 to December 31, 1999. He served on the editorial board of the Journal "Multiphasic Health" from 1970 to 1971, and, since 2002, has been an international peer reviewer for the Journal of Zhejiang University Science (China).
