LateRooms.com - Head to Dusseldorf for the Benrath Bierborse

The Benrath Bierborse is Dusseldorf's answer to the famous Oktoberfest in Munich.

DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, June 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Munich may be Germany's most famous city when it comes to beer-drinking events, but Dusseldorf will attempt to give the Bavarian capital a run for its money with the Benrath Bierborse this summer.

Although not as well-known as Munich's Oktoberfest, this event is nevertheless a major highlight of the calendar for beer fans in and around Dusseldorf.

Situated to the south of the city centre, the pedestrianised zone of Benrath will be transformed into a giant beer festival from July 30th to August 1st.

The Benrath Bierborse attracts about 100,000 visitors every year, with many people returning each time to enjoy the convivial atmosphere and sample a huge variety of beers.

People using Dusseldorf hotels are advised to get to Benrath early if they plan to spend some time at the Bierborse, as the area has been known to get extremely busy as the day goes on.

Popular with both seasoned ale experts and casual visitors, the event features major breweries showcasing their wares alongside smaller companies, who often give out samples for free.

Over 50 different food and drink stalls will be set up for the festival, meaning there should be something to suit everybody's tastes, with beers from all over the globe represented.

Admission is free and the festival zone is open between 11:00 and 23:00 local time each day.

Holidaymakers planning to experience the Oktoberfest in Munich later this year could use the Benrath Bierborse as an appropriate prelude to the world's largest beer festival.

The event will also give visitors the chance to sample Dusseldorf's famous "Rhineland hospitality" and see the sights of the city.

Commenting on the Benrath Bierborse, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to Benrath Bierborse and who need hotels Dusseldorf to book early to avoid disappointment."
