Houston-Area Plastic Surgery Practice Hosts BOTOX Cosmetic Parties

    HOUSTON, TX, June 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BOTOX Cosmetic is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States, with nearly 5 million procedures performed last year, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. BOTOX parties are a way for patients to take advantage of this popular treatment in something other than the typical clinical setting. The Plastic Surgery Institute of Southeast Texas holds BOTOX parties four times a year, with upcoming parties on August 4 and November 10 at its Pearland location.

BOTOX parties run from 3-7pm. Wine and snacks are provided. BOTOX Cosmetic treatments are provided at a 25% discount. Unlike less formal BOTOX parties that may be run in a spa or a person's home, safety protocols are still observed. Injections are performed by Dr. Lapuerta. New patients should be prepared to discuss their medical histories and are asked to sign informed consent forms.

BOTOX Cosmetic is an injectable treatment for some types of wrinkles. It works by relaxing muscles that wrinkle the skin, and is used to treat wrinkles in the forehead, glabellar lines (vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows), crow's feet, and lipstick lines (fine wrinkles around the mouth.) Its effects are temporary, typically lasting about 3-4 months. Risks include migration of BOTOX Cosmetic leading to sagging eyelids, and possible loss of facial expressiveness.
