Joe Price Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals

Joe Price shines as an actor, having performed in television shows, films and theatre



    NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA, July 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joe Allen Price, Actor, Artist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in performing arts.

Seasoned actor and artist Mr. Price has 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He devotes his time to acting, teaching art, screening and water coloring. He organized a traveling show at JJ Brookings Gallery in 1997 and was selected as one of the best of printmaking in international collection with Quarry Books that year. He also attained an award from the Chicago Center for the Print in 1997 and was named in Who's Who in American Art in 2010.

In 1957, Mr. Price obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Theater Art from Northwestern University. Soon after, he landed a job in New York for the theatre and television scene for several years. In 1960, he arrived in Los Angeles, where he acquired roles in television shows including "Combat," "My Three Sons," "Mickey Rooney," and "Judd for The Defense." At this time, he continued working in theatre and toured nationally as Mordred in "Camelot," Prez in "The Pajama Game," and Charlie in "Charlie's Aunt." A few years later, he moved to San Francisco and was accepted to Stanford University, where he completed his Master of Arts in Art. In 1970, he began teaching at the nearby College of San Mateo as a professor of Studio Art. He became the chair of the art department and helped create their first film department. He has since landed roles in "Princess Diaries," "Raising Helen," "Princess Diaries II," "Two Thirteen," and "Earthstorm" among others.

Over the years, Mr. Price has received the following awards: the Kempshall Clark Award from the Peoria Art Guild (1981), the Paul Lindsay Sample Memorial Award at the 25th Chautaugua National Exhibition of American Art (1982); the 1st Annual Creative Achievement Award from the California Legislature and the Arts Council of San Mateo County (1989); the Memorial American Color Print Society's Audubon Artists Louis Lozowick Memorial Award (1978); the Silver Medal of Honor Award (1991); the Boston Printmakers Ture Bengtz memorial Award (1987); the California Society of printmakers Memorial Council (1979-1981); the Los Angeles Printmaking Society; and the Philadelphia Print Club's Lessing J. Rosenwald Prize (1979).
