CareSource Names Gail Croall Senior Medical Director

CareSource, a non-profit, public-sector managed care company, has named Dr. Gail Croall Senior Medical Director, Quality and Care Management.



    COLUMBUS, OH, August 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- CareSource, a non-profit, public-sector managed care company, has named Dr. Gail Croall Senior Medical Director, Quality and Care Management. She will direct clinical quality improvement, care management and will support new and emerging opportunities.

Croall is a pediatrician and most recently served as the Chief Medical Officer for OptumHealth Care Solutions, a business unit of UnitedHealth Group. She was responsible for clinical business strategy, clinical program design/content and helped to identify quality and affordability solutions for consumers and clients. She also served as a member of the executive leadership team. She has extensive clinical practice experience and worked for more than 17 years with a multi-specialty group in Cincinnati.

She is also a member of the executive board of the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA): The Care Continuum Alliance, a member of the Health Enhancement Research Organization Think Tank, and she is a member of the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation.

In her role at CareSource, Croall will oversee quality and performance improvement activities that support NCQA and URAC accreditation and manage CareSource's health care programs such as the Health Care Home Model. She will handle clinical education activities and support nursing and care management functions.

Croall received her bachelor's of science degree in both biology and chemistry from The College of William and Mary and her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She also completed a one-year fellowship at the Cincinnati Center for Developmental Disorders. She resides in Mason, Ohio, with her husband, David, and has two grown children.
