With 24 years of professional experience, Dr. Frances F. Pellizzari is a respected expert on addiction therapy, dual diagnosis, and trauma resolution. She treats patients as the head of Pellizzari Consulting and Investments, a consulting firm. As a psychologist, Dr. Pellizzari draws on a sociology background in treating diverse people; fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French, she focuses on linguistics, driven by the conviction that patients perceive things based on the languages that they speak.

Also a veteran educator, Dr. Pellizzari teaches psychiatry residents at the Hospital Central de San Cristóbal in Táchira. She has also been doing pro bono work for the hospital's mental health department since 1986. Hailed as the "Godmother" of three graduating psychiatry classes, she has been recognized with numerous citations, including having three regional conferences named in her honor. Dr. Pellizzari considers helping people with complicated problems learn to heal themselves to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. Dr. Pellizzari received a Ph.D. in psychology in 2006 from Southern California University for Professional Studies and a Ph.D. in psychology in 1994 from Columbia Pacific University. An active flyer since 1966, she holds private and commercial airplane licenses and a flight instructor license. Her affiliations include the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, NAADAC (The Association for Addiction Professionals), the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, and the Venezuelan Association of Psychotherapy. She supports Habitat for Humanity and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
