IWalked Audio Tours Introduces a New Scare into Boston

Just in time for Halloween, IWalked Audio Tours has created a self-guided audio tour of Boston's greatest crimes and most haunted locales. No need for scary tour hours or criminal prices as now you can conjure up a cheap scare on your own time!

WOBURN, MA, September 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Care to hang out with the dirtiest, rottenest, and most worm-ridden (sometimes quite literally) filth known to mankind? No, this is not an invite to hang out on the set of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. IWalked Audio Tours has introduced a self-guided audio tour of the city of Boston whereby listeners can now visit some of the most noted crime and haunt sites within the city. While crimes and haunted tours have long been popular (especially during the upcoming Halloween season), listeners now have the opportunity to download and experience the tour around their own busy schedules.

The crimes and haunts tour highlights both scenes of famous crimes and whereby the dead have been said to never rest. The tour begins by showing listeners where the former Brinks Security headquarters was robbed of $2.7MM in the 1950s and proceeds to the home of the Boston Italian mafia in the North End which FBI raided in 1981. Further along the tour the ghostly histories of beheaded corpses within King's Chapel Burying Ground and the infamous retired room of Omni Parker Hotel are explored. At each stop, listeners are provided with a detailed history and obscure facts (such as prisoners in the former Charles Street Jail nearly rioting over receiving lobster as a meal too often). There are 18 stops in all which further include exploring the histories of: Sacco and Vanzetti, Charles Ponzi, the Boston Massacre, hangings within the Boston Common, the Blond Witch of Lime Street, the site of the George Parkman murder, and the Boston Strangler.

The tour clocks in around 2 hours and does come with a free downloadable map as a guide along the 2.5 mile route. The tour itself is a live recording of IWalked founder, Scott Woznicki, playing the role of tour guide pointing out historical and architectural wonders of the city. You can actually hear the birds and cars drive by as if your guide is walking alongside you.

Audio tours have become increasingly popular amongst travelers in recent years as a budget travel option. While long popular as an alternative for indoor venues, such as museums, the walls have begun to break down on alternatives to exploring cities outside of these walls. IWalked sells their tours via their website at www.iwalkedaudiotours.com for $7 each. Per research of other guided tours within the city of Boston, this was approximately 1/3 the cost. Now that's just scary.
