NEW YORK, NY, October 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard P. Brown, MD, and Patricia Gerbarg, MD, award-winning authors and leaders in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, will teach their ground-breaking Breath-Body-Mind, Level 1 workshop for the first time online. On Saturday, October 23, from 10 am to 5 pm ET, and Sunday, October 24, from 10 am to 4 pm ET the workshop will be broadcast from Fellowships of the Spirit in Lily Dale NY, for the general public, health professionals, caregivers, and yoga teachers.

The Breath-Body-Mind teachings incorporate gentle movement and meditation to help stressed and traumatized people improve energy, sleep quality, stress resilience, and peace of mind. The work is a unique fusion of ancient and modern mind-body techniques derived from QiGong, yoga, Christian monks, Coherent Breathing, Open Focus meditation, and martial arts.

"Many people inquire about our Breath-Body-Mind workshops because they want to enhance their physical and mental well-being. Health care practitioners, yoga teachers, and others are interested in techniques they can use in their daily work to help others. Because we are engaged in active clinical practice, research, and teaching, we are not able to give workshops often, so we are especially excited to have an opportunity to offer our workshop for the first time online so anyone interested does not have to come to New York," comments Dr. Gerbarg. The course includes instruction and demonstration of techniques as well as paired and group exercises. On-line participants will be able to ask questions.

Based on their extensive research to create the Breath~Body~Mind workshop, Drs. Brown and Gerbarg have seen results showing stress relief and improved mood, mental focus, heart and lung function, and endurance. Benefits have been enjoyed by health care practitioners, Buddhist monks and nuns, teachers of yoga and other mind-body practices, military veterans, individuals with psychiatric (anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADD) and medical conditions (cancer, lung problems, toxic exposures), and victims of terrorism, war and natural disasters. Many people who have worked with Dr. Brown and Dr. Gerbarg say they have been transformed, and that they never would have imagined something so simple would have been so powerful and helpful.

Registration is at www.fellowshipsspirit.org/breath-body-mind.php on the Internet. The phone at Fellowships of the Spirit is (716)595-2159 and the fax is (716)595-2127. Tuition is $325 until October 15, and $355 after October 15, 2010.
