Larry Zwain has held senior management positions in the restaurant industry for the last 25 years. While President/CEO of Boston Market, Larry was named among the Top 50 Restaurant Industry Leaders by Nation's Restaurant News. Boston Market successfully converted from "take-out" only to a fast-casual leader of the "home meal replacement" category.
When he first joined PepsiCo/Pizza Hut as VP-National Marketing, he helped lead the re-positioning of the brand, launching the "Making it Great" national ad campaign that led to the creation of new product successes such as "Pizza Lovers" specialty pizzas in response to customer and employee feedback for reducing discounts, and simplifying orders.
As President/COO of PepsiCo Restaurants International (dba YUM! Brands--KFC/Pizza Hut/Taco Bell outside of the US), Larry was responsible for the strategic introduction/expansion of KFC/Pizza Hut in the Far East, Mid-East and Central Europe. Such successes led to the integration of Pizza Hut/KFC and Taco Bell International. Mr. Zwain also served as Western U.S. Division Vice President of Pizza Hut, President of KFC International, and Senior Vice President of U.S. Marketing at McDonald's Restaurants.
In each position, he excelled in creating high performance environments and aligning organizations to create energy and excitement around key initiatives, overcoming obstacles and doing what it takes to get the job done.
The American Marketing Association honored him with the Silver Effie Award for Advertising Effectiveness for the 'Did somebody say McDonald's?' advertising campaign.
Larry Zwain currently serves as member of the Board of Directors for Fatz Cafe Enterprises, and Pizza Fusion, Inc. His strategic insights, creativity, and experiences with rigorous development of senior executives, brings added value to the more traditional roles and responsibilities of successful boards.
The recipient of a Leonard G. Hunt Marketing Scholarship, Larry received a Master of Business Administration with High Distinction from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar, and later served as an advisory board member. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University. Mr. Zwain has been a guest lecturer at the Tuck School, the University of Colorado, and American Advertising Association conferences.
