Cypress Expands Interactive Practice; Adds Staff

Company's new focus on mobile applications is the catalyst for growth.

SEATTLE, WA, November 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cypress (www.cypressconsulting.net), a Seattle-based interactive agency, announced today its plans to increase headcount by 30% and procure larger space for its headquarters in downtown Seattle. The company's significant growth during a shaky economy is attributed to a number of new client partnerships, including Russell Investments, MySpace, AT&T, and Cypress' naming as a Microsoft-preferred developer for the new Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The company also added award-winning Executive Creative Director Roy Matich to lead its creative services team and oversee the design of all mobile application experiences. Matich brings more than 20 years of experience to Cypress, including leadership positions at well-known local brands Starbucks, Razorfish and Fitch, where he managed creative and interactive teams to engage users with compelling interactive and mobile experiences. Roy also serves as an industry expert and judge for mobile application awards, and has been a guest speaker for the American Marketing Association and various universities. He also served on the Board for Curriculum Development at Western Washington University.

"We are emerging from the economic downturn in a much stronger position," said CEO and founder of Cypress, Nate Thompson. "We've refined our strengths, procured talented new team members and strategically pursued opportunities in the fast-growing mobile application market. We're excited to bring a high-caliber leader to our creative team to help manage the balance of top-end creative and technical capabilities - and to deliver clients the rich and engaging user experiences they need to be successful."

"Joining Cypress allows me to strategically build on my previous design experience, which included e-commerce, rich media, video portals, and mobile applications for national brands like Starbucks, Adidas, Time Warner, Sims Snowboards, and Microsoft," said Matich. "My approach applies a deep understanding of the user's motivations to craft a digital experience that enables the consumer to bond with the brand. This is the foundation of Cypress' existing work and will continue to be a core element of the company's signature in all projects moving forward."

Cypress has been selected to develop a number of mobile applications for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, including demo applications for Major League Soccer (MLS) and Intuit's QuickBooks program, as well as launch applications for MSN Money and Myspace. The company also develops applications for the iPad, iPhone and Android platforms. Cypress was recently recognized for its creative and design excellence when the Sony VideOn site it developed was awarded an Interactive Media Award. In addition, Matich will be among a select set of industry-leading creative professionals chosen to judge the November Mobile Marketing Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles.
