HirePatriots Florida Joins Grassroots Jobs for Veterans Campaign

    TAMPA, FL, December 03, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- HirePatriotsFL.com, a free online job portal serving US military members, veterans and their families through unique job assistance opportunities, joins national campaign to help find jobs for veterans. The nationwide grassroots awareness campaign titled, Don't just thank a veteran, hire one, kicked off last month in Florida.

For the past 6 years, HirePatriots helped provide one-day and part-time jobs for off-duty service members through its unique online jobs board. HirePatriots joined regional sponsors across the country to expand these capabilities and provide much needed job assistance to veterans and their families.

"Through this grassroots campaign, we intend to help others across the state better understand the employment concerns for veterans and their families," said Brian Butler, President of Vistra Communications, local sponsor of HirePatriots Florida. "Veterans show up ready to work. Your tax dollars have already paid for their training and years of experiences, all you have to do is give them a chance and hire them." Butler believes it's time for Florida businesses to do more than just say thanks to the men and women who have volunteered to serve our nation in uniform.

Military veterans possess a wide range of skills that are useful to employers in the state of Florida. These skills range from the very technical software and analytical positions to security related, financial, administrative and professional experiences.

Butler will travel throughout the state speaking to local businesses and community leaders about the need to hire veterans.

HirePatriots Florida, a member of the national organization, recently launched these free services in Florida. The online jobs portals connect military members, veterans, and their families with one-day, part-time, and full-time employment in their region through a unique free job board. Community residents post household repairs and small jobs they need help with on the one-day job board. Businesses are encouraged to post part-time and full-time employment opportunities. There is currently no fee to post jobs on the site.

Military members, veterans and their families are encouraged to regularly check the job boards and apply for these jobs in their communities.
