Notification of Rescheduling of 1st Hong Kong International Software Contest Awards Ceremony

    HONG KONG, HK, December 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Software Association of Hong Kong and 1st Hong Kong International Software Contest Committee have made the decision to reschedule the Awards Ceremony of 1st Hong Kong International Software Contest, which was to be held on January 11th, 2011 in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, to March 11th, 2011.

More than 50,000 softwares have been submitted from home and abroad since the software contest started 3 months ago, which demonstrates the influence of this contest on the international software industry.

The committee has increased the daily work to examine carefully the software submitted, including the copyright certification, unwanted codes, antivirus, etc. Due to the quantity is larger than expected; it is hard to do with all this within the schedule first made.

The committee have fully evaluated and considered to make this decision.

Then, deadline for sign-up: November 15th, 2010. Due to the authors submitted the works at different time, works submitted earlier will get clicked, downloaded and commented more than those later.

Upon the basis of fair consideration, The committee reschedule the awards ceremony to March, 11th, 2011. In this period, all the submitted works will be carefully selected and examined. Netizens are welcomed to vote and download the works on a fair, just, open basis. Authors who have submitted the works can check their works, and get the access to the vote codes on the official website at http://www.softwaredownloads.org/. The codes can be copied and put on the authors' websites to facilitate netizens to vote and boost the visits.

The committee will select 10 works in each of the 10 software categories according to the results of the votes. The Top 100 list will be displayed on the website of Hong Kong International Software Contest on February, 21st, 2011. The prizes will be granted to the winners according to the Top 100.
