Revolutionary Distribution Plan for The Last Passport on DVD to Benefit Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont and Other Charities Unveiled by Lucky You Films

Lucky You Films releases their award winning film, The Last Passport, in conjunction with Goodwill and other charities! 50% of proceeds from DVD sales go to benefit great causes and help raise awareness!

CHARLOTTE, NC, December 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lucky You Films, a Charlotte-based film production company, has partnered with Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont (Goodwill) in a fundraising/DVD distribution method. Lucky You Films released its first feature film on DVD, Thursday, November 25, 2010 via its website, The Last Passport. The DVD is now available for the sale price of $15.00 (regular price is $19.95), and customers have half of their sale ($7.50 per DVD) donated to Goodwill.

Co-directed by Kent Smith and David Temple and co-written by both directors along with Alex Bailey, The Last Passport is set in what appears to be an ordinary passport office. While 70 year-old George Miller (Hager) waits, he passes the time by engaging other visitors. During the course of a single day, George challenges a number of people ranging from an arrogant doctor to a gun-toting thug to alter their life paths and imagine a different ending to their stories. Despite the surface differences between age, sex, race, social status, or mental stability, these coincidental encounters become walking reflections of George and mirror his own memories and life journey.

"'It's never been done before' is the driving spirit that got this film made in the first place," says Kent Smith, owner of Lucky You Films and director, writer, and producer of The Last Passport. The Last Passport is a full feature length film that was made from start to finish in 30 days. Everything from writing, pre-production, principal photography, editing, and post-production was all done in one month's time. "Everything went right and everything we needed to make this film appeared. It became obvious that we had created something bigger than any of us could have ever imagined."

In 2009, the film was selected for the Solstice Film Festival in Minnesota where it won the awards for Best Actor and Best Director. The world premiere of The Last Passport was held last winter at The Epicentre in Charlotte, NC, and drew a sold-out audience. Proceeds from the ticket sales to the event went to benefit Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont of the Carolinas.

"Lucky You Films is all about being original in everything we do, right down to how we distribute The Last Passport onto DVD. In a time of economic recession, charitable donations have made a considerable decline so we at Lucky You Films decided to self-distribute the movie, thus allowing us to share our good fortune with other organizations in need. We've dubbed this first-ever DVD distribution endeavor as the Hurricane of Hope and Inspiration, and we encourage everyone to take part."
