MIAMI, FL, January 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jan Patterson, International Baccalaureate Coordinator and French Instructor at the Gulliver Preparatory School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in French instruction.

While growing up in northern Virginia, Ms. Patterson gained significant exposure to the many cultures surrounding her. She began studying French in kindergarten, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French and Spanish from Furman University, and spent time living overseas. She decided to become an educator in order to afford children with the same multicultural experiences that she has had herself. Of her 30 years in the field, she has spent 25 at the Gulliver Preparatory School. She specializes in French literature and instructs high-level French classes.

Three years ago, Ms. Patterson was given additional responsibilities as the coordinator for the International Baccalaureate program. She oversees the management and administration of the world-renowned program and directs 90 students. Like her high-achieving students, Ms. Patterson has been the recipient of many honors. In 2005, she was given a worldwide advance placement award in French literature by the College Board as well as an award from the Alliance Française. She has also published pedagogical articles for the College Board. Ms. Patterson attributes her success to her passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
