All Press Releases for January 12, 2011

Safety Grid, "The World's Best Panic Button", is Now Available on the App Store for the iPhone and iPad!

In the event you are feeling unsafe, simply press the SafetyGrid button on your iPhone or iPad and SafetyGrid will silently alert up to 5 of your personal contacts, of your situation and your estimated location.

CHESTERFIELD, MI, January 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, SafetyGrid utilizes a Patent Pending enhanced alert messaging system.

Unlike other systems, SafetyGrid messages supports silent two-way alarm acknowledgment. The user is immediately aware of whether or not their request for help message was successfully sent, as well as if it was acknowledged by one of their contacts, as a visual icon in the app changes based on the state of their alarm. The silent alarm feature is a plus in the event of a kidnapping or other emergency where a discreet alarm is necessary.

Alarm messages are sent to the users chosen contacts via SMS text messaging and email, as well as by automated phone voice messaging. If the user subscribes to popular social media networks, alarm messages can also be posted to their published wall status. SafetyGrid also utilizes the GPS function of the iPhone or iPad, giving alarm recipients an approximate location of the caller.

SafetyGrid creator Jim Hankins states that his motivation for such a service was really quite simple, "If we save the life of just one person, the ten months of development I put into this will all be worth it! Many times police departments won't take missing person requests for people until they haven't been heard of for 24 hours or more," states Hankins, "and based on statistics that show the first 48 hours are the most critical in solving a crime, we are literally buying time in order to save a life."

Hankins adds, "SafetyGrid is not meant to be a replacement for dialing 911 or contacting the local authorities in the event of an emergency. This is simply another mode of contact when dialing 911 and speaking into a phone is not an option."

The initial SafetyGrid App purchase price of $2.99 includes five full feature alarms, which can be used for testing or for actual emergencies. Additional alarm credits are also available for purchase, or the user may also continue to use the system without SMS / Voice at no additional charge. The system will send Alarm Notifications and Test Alarm Notifications via Email and if enabled, to the users social media status page for no charge.
