KDH Defense Systems, Inc. Announces $1000 On-line Contest: Share Your Story of How Body Armor Saved Your Life

KDH On-line Contest Seeks Stories From Law Enforcement Officers, Federal Agents, Soldiers and Marines "Saved" by Wearing Body Armor

EDEN, NC, May 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- KDH Defense Systems, Inc. (KDH), a leading manufacturer of American-made custom body armor solutions for military, law enforcement and federal agencies, today announced that the Company will sponsor an online promotion, "Body Armor Saves Lives - Save Story Contest," where law enforcement officers, federal agents, Soldiers and Marines can share their personal stories of how body armor saved their lives.

"In recent months, we have seen a dramatic rise in the number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty," stated David Herbener, President and Chief Executive Officer of KDH Defense Systems, Inc. "These numbers are of great concern to us, as they should be to all Americans. We rely on our law enforcement officers to protect our lives and property and we must do all that we can to make sure they are protected while on duty. The only body armor that works is body armor that is worn. This contest focuses on sharing stories of how body armor saves lives while simultaneously encouraging the law enforcement community to wear their armor while on duty."

"Body armor has also been credited with saving the lives of many American servicemen and women in both Iraq and Afghanistan," stated SGM (Ret) William T. (Butch) Hancock, Jr., Military Program Development for KDH. He continues, "KDH is a proud manufacturer of the U.S. Army's IOTV (Improved Outer Tactical Vest), the U.S. Marine Corps' IMTV (Improved Modular Tactical Vest) and Plate Carrier System. I've personally heard dozens of first-hand accounts from Soldiers recounting stories of how body armor saved their life. We encourage all military personnel to share their personal body armor save stories through this contest."

Whether you're a law enforcement officer, a federal agent, a Soldier, a Marine, or know someone who was "saved" by body armor, KDH would like to hear from you. The ten stories with the most "likes" at the conclusion of the contest submission period will be judged by Cynthia Brown, publisher and founder of American Police Beat and author of the book, "Brave Hearts: Extraordinary Stories of Pride, Pain and Courage." The winning "save" story author will receive $1,000 and the runner up will receive $500.
