Intechra's Reno Facility Designated a Certified Electronics Recycler (TM)

Leading IT Asset Disposition Company Achieves R2/RIOS Certification for All of its Processing Facilities

JACKSON, MS, May 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Intechra, a leading source for the secure retirement of IT assets, announced today that the company's Reno, Nev., processing facility has achieved the R2/RIOS certification. This is the fourth Intechra facility to receive certification within the past year.

This certification program combines the stringent Responsible Recycling (R2) practices, facilitated by the Environmental Protection Agency and key stakeholders, with the Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS) certification, developed by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (ISRI). Companies achieving this certification are designated as Certified Electronics Recyclers.

"We are proud to have yet another third-party validation of our robust capabilities," said Michael Profit, Intechra president. "With this certification, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to client brand and reputation protection through IT asset disposition, as well as environmental sustainability."

"This represents a significant achievement for our company and our employees: all four of Intechra's processing facilities have completed the R2/RIOS certification process," said Profit. "The speed with which we were able to achieve certification at all four facilities validates our commitment to providing client organizations of every size and business category with a level of service, protection and industry leadership that is so crucial in today's marketplace."

About the R2/RIOS Standard
The R2 standard, facilitated and supported by the U.S. EPA, was the result of a multistakeholder process that included government agencies, major OEMs, recyclers, and other experts in sustainability and recycling. R2 requires a management system such as RIOS, as well as stringent controls and tracking of products and materials "downstream" of the recycler, including verifying the legality of exports, health and safety of workers and security of data.

The RIOS standard was designed for the recycling industry and provides a framework for a comprehensive, integrated management system that includes key operational and continual improvement elements for quality, environmental and health and safety performance. The six components of RIOS cover general requirements, policy, planning, implementation, checking and corrective action, and management.
