The party features a mixed programme of activities to make sure everyone is kept entertained and one of the highlights is the torch lit parade that works its way through the city centre.

The parade features bands and students and groups carrying fire lit torches in a large procession that lights up the night sky.

The cathedral also holds mass with members of the royal family in attendance to add to the occasion. The festivities last from 22nd to 23rd June 2011, and 23rd marks the Grand Duke's birthday along with commemorating Luxembourg's most popular and successful ruler, the Grand Duchess Charlotte.
