LateRooms.com.au - Watch History Alive, A Journey Through Time in Brisbane

The event will involve re-enactments of conflicts from throughout the ages.

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, May 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Knights of the Holy Land will brush shoulders with World War II (WWII) soldiers at Brisbane's 2011 History Alive: A Journey Through Time re-enactment.

The event will celebrate its 12th anniversary when it takes place on June 11th and 12th at Fort Lytton National Park on the outskirts of the city.

Organised by the Queensland Living History Federation, the occasion comprises a unique timeline-style display of conflicts through the ages, starting with the Roman legions and ending with WWII.

Re-enactment groups taking part in History Alive will have the opportunity to show off their performance skills and sign up new enthusiasts.

Members of the public can witness all the sights, sounds and action of conflict while picking up long-forgotten talents that were once vital to everyday life.

Ford Lytton, located on the southern bank of the Brisbane River, is a fitting venue for the display. It was built in 1881 and was used to defend the city until the end of WWII.

Admission for a single day costs AU$15 for adults and AU$10 for five to ten-year-olds, while younger children can get in free.
