MENOMONIE, WI, May 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rebecca A. Morlando, Ph.D., Manufacturing Director of U.S. Film Manufacturing at 3M, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in manufacturing process improvement.

During her career at 3M, Dr. Morlando has risen from laboratory assistant to manufacturing director of U.S. film manufacturing. She attributes her success to her sheer determination. In her current position, she utilizes her expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies to direct the responsibilities of five manufacturing facilities that support more than $2 billion in sales. She is also responsible for ensuring health and environmental safety in the facilities. As a Six Sigma black belt, she has saved the company millions of dollars by training other Six Sigma professionals.

In 1997, Dr. Morlando earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Missouri, following her receipt of a master's degree in chemistry from the same institution. She previously graduated from Central Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. In five years, Dr. Morlando hopes to become a managing director for an entire country under 3M.
